My passion is writing. My calling is the opportunity to help others attain academic success through clear cohesive writing. I attribute magna cum laude graduate status largely to my ability to write exceptional academic papers. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and political science, and a Master of Arts degree in criminal justice administration. A creative non-fiction piece that I wrote was published in a campus literary arts magazine in 2009. My Bachelor of Arts program, capstone research project earned a nomination and award of Outstanding Student in 2010. I served as a competition judge for USFSM Interdisciplinary Paper Competition in 2012. The role of competition judge required the review and ranking of submitted papers in terms of clear, cohesive interdisciplinary perspective on a social science topic. I understand the anxiety that many students experience when tasked with writing a research paper. Relax and take a deep breath.
Experience
As your writing tutor, I will start with a review of the syllabus, grading rubric, or assignment instructions. I can begin at the ground level and help you choose a topic based on assignment details and your interests. The importance of student interest in the topic is often overshadowed by assignment details and requirements. Next, I will request a writing sample, or first draft in order to identify writing strengths and weaknesses. The level of instruction is determined by the goals set by the student; do you need proofreading, editing, or step by step guidance throughout the project?
